Casey Harris Pratt
Casey serves as Board Treasurer and brings nearly two decades of experience in public service, financial leadership, and local government experience across North Carolina.
After earning her Master of Public Administration from Appalachian State University, Casey began her career in the nonprofit sector supporting regional revitalization efforts across central North Carolina. Her work with communities in Anson, Stanly, Richmond, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, Davidson, and Rowan counties sparked a lasting commitment to public service and community development.
In 2008, Casey joined the City of Greensboro as a Budget and Management Analyst, where she managed a large portfolio and built a strong foundation in public finance, budgeting, and strategic operations. She has since held leadership roles with the City of Durham, the City of Raleigh, and the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management, serving as a key fiscal partner in supporting statewide priorities. Casey currently serves as Assistant Director of Financial and Business Services for the City of Durham’s Environmental and Street Services Department, where she oversees financial strategy, business operations, and resource management.
Alongside her government leadership, Casey is an Adjunct Lecturer at North Carolina State University, where she teaches graduate-level Master of Public Administration courses within the School of Public and International Affairs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Casey has a strong history of board service, including Treasurer and First Vice-President for the Triad Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators and Treasurer and Vice-President of her HOA in Durham. She also serves on the UNC School of Government’s Growing Practical Solutions Advisory Committee, helping guide programming that addresses North Carolina’s most pressing community challenges. In 2025, she was invited to join the inaugural Durham Next Community Advisory, a community nonprofit initiative operated by Discover Durham that advances transformative projects and opportunities to build a thriving and inclusive Durham.
In her private time, Casey enjoys spending time with her 7 year old boss lady, anything that involves sunshine and travel and spending time with her family.
